Educating the next generation to have maximum influence for the glory of God

Student Teaching

Student teach alongside experienced educators in a culturally diverse classroom at the crossroads of three continents.

Student teaching at GDQ was a pivotal life experience for me. GDQ opened my eyes to what it looked like to nurture each student as a whole person. I was left with a lasting impression of God’s heart for third culture kids and the unique work He is doing in Albania

We provide opportunities for Education majors who require a semester of student teaching to complete their degree. GDQ has hosted student teachers from Taylor University, Liberty University, Lipscomb University, Bethel University, Grace College, Michigan State University, University of Jyvaskyla (Finland), and Driestar Christian University (The Netherlands).

We will place you in a classroom that fulfills your university’s practicum requirements. We have had student teachers working in elementary classrooms as well as specific High School and Middle School subjects alongside the main classroom teacher. You will be included in all staff activities and retreats as well as curriculum reviews and professional development trainings.

GDQ will organize your accommodation for your time in-country and support you as you orient to your new surroundings. You’ll enjoy the beautiful Albanian landscape during your free time, interacting with GDQ staff, learning about local ministries and connecting to a local church community.
Tirana is situated just 45 minutes away from hiking in the Skanderbeg mountain range and swimming in the Adriatic Sea. With over 200 days of sun a year, Tirana is one of the sunniest cities in Europe.

All student teachers are provided a mentor teacher during their semester and will be a part of a broader network of experienced GDQ teachers who are eager to advise and assist you in and out of the classroom.
