JOB OVERVIEW
GDQ International Christian School seeks to provide a Christ-centered, academically enriching, international education for the missionary and international business community. QUALIFICATIONS
• A clear testimony of faith in Christ.
• Acceptance of GDQ’s and ACSI’s statement of faith and GDQ’s lifestyle covenant
• An undergraduate or graduate degree in Elementary Education
• A valid teaching certificate in Elementary Education
• International staff: Open to raise financial support either personally or in partnership
with a sending organization


TEACHING RESPONSIBILITIES
• Plan and teach well-structured lessons.
• Further each learner’s reading, writing, and mathematical development.
• Introduce and explore age-appropriate science and social studies concepts.
• Engage learners in the Bible.
• Help students think about the subject matter biblically and critically (presenting information in such a way as to reveal the character, nature, or handiwork of God).
• Utilize teaching strategies to meet the needs of EAL learners and students with learning differences.
• Assign homework to consolidate and extend knowledge and understanding.
• Make accurate and productive use of assessments, monitoring progress, setting targets, and providing regular feedback verbally and in written form.
• Manage behavior effectively to ensure a positive and safe learning environment.
• Help develop and keep curriculum documentation updated, following the progression of a long-term plan and submitting weekly plans onto Google Drive and/or Curriculum Trak.

COMPENSATION / BENEFITS
Expatriate Staff
Expatriate staff provide for the majority of their financial resources through personal means or by partnering with a mission organization. Mission organizations provide staff with varying
benefits that may include health insurance, life insurance, retirement savings plans, college debt reduction, and obligations regarding country taxes. GDQ provides a monthly allowance that for most international staff covers housing and some utility costs. The school will also reimburse annually travel between a staff member’s home country and Albania. GDQ recognizes that individual ministry organizations have established financial policies and will comply with the policies of these organizations.


Local Hire
This is a salaried position. The local labour market determines compensation and benefits. In accordance with the labour laws of Albania, the Foundation will assume its legal obligations regarding taxes, employee social security benefits, and employee health benefits for full- and part-time employment.

ENGLISH PROFICIENCY (for non-native English speaking applicants)
• CEFR minimum C1 (tested and certified). C2 is preferable
• IELTS 7 or above on the academic test, not the general training test (tested and
certified)
• TOEFL iBT 110-120 (tested and certified)
